Visual Econometrics

Visual Econometrics main objective is to bring standard economic research to the web.  For many years as a professional trader, research analyst and currently for a personal portfolio, I spend more than a few hours each week performing economic research on a variety of economic indicators and markets.

Developments in low cost web tools have allowed me to quickly load select analysis on the web for friends, family and co-workers.   For much of my trading career I focused on commodity markets research.  Due to my current employment contract, I am not able to take positions in individual commodity futures, so I spend most of my time on macro economic analysis. 

The basic process of economic analysis relies on the following steps:

• Obtain historical time series data and load it into a computer
• Create graphs and study historical trends and ranges
• Study relationships and develop valuation models
• Update new data releases and models

What Visual Econometrics is today is only a small portion of what I would develop if time and money were not an issue.
